Each year Rotary Matamata holds a competition to see who can grow the most or biggest potatoes using only a bucket of compost, one seed potato and tender loving care. This fundraiser is great fun and very competitive!! Individuals and organisations purchase their spud-in-a-bucket in October, sow during Labour Weekend and the get 'weighed in' in March.

Buckets are on sale from Mitre 10, Colourplus, Paper Plus and The Boltholder during October. They cost $10 with proceeds going to local and international causes supported by Rotary Matamata. Each year more businesses and organisations join the competition.  Please contact us of you would like more information or just come along on weigh-in night.

Buckets are planted at Labour Weekend and weigh-in is on March 6, 2018 at Railside by the Green. Join us this year - have a go. It is a lot of fun!

With grateful thanks to our local sponsors; Mitre 10, Daltons, Guthrie Bowron, PaperPlus and The Boltholder.
