Matamata has an active and friendly Inner Wheel closely associated with Rotary Matamata
Inner Wheel is an International organisation whose objectives are:
- to promote true friendship
- to encourage the ideals of personal service
- to foster international understanding
Inner Wheel clubs work together around the world to make a difference and improve lives. They are active in 103 countries, have more than 100,000 members and are one of the largest women's voluntary service organisations in the world. In New Zealand there are 56 clubs and approximately 2000 members. Clubs support International Inner Wheel's service project, their District's chosen charity and their own choice of overseas charities. Inner Wheel clubs also work with, and support, Rotary clubs with their activities and events.
District meetings are held twice a year, National meetings biennially and International Conferences every 3 years.
Here in Matamata our meetings are held in member’s homes on the second Monday of the month from 7.30pm.
We extend a warm welcome to any who wish to come along to a few meetings, experience friendship, listen to a speaker and decide if they would like to become a member. Our emphasis is on friendship and working together to improve the lives of women and children in need, especially in our community.
