Movie Evening for PolioPlus 2015

Rotarians and friends from Matamata, Cambridge and Kihikihi enjoyed the hospitality of Tivoli cinema in Cambridge last night watching the New Zealand premier of the Steven Spielberg movie staring Tom Hanks 'Bridge of Spies'. Based on a true story the events leading to a prisoner exchange in the midst of the Cold War are brilliantly portrayed. Rotary International secured the premier and made it available to clubs to use as a PolioPlus fundraiser in the week of World Polio Day. It is anticipated that in excess of $1000 was raised. This amount will be tripled through matching from The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
