Hey everyone

Well another week done and dusted. Won't be long and it will be........Easter! I know you all thought I was going to say Christmas....

President Alice Albright opened the evening by reiterating what a great success the Spud in a Bucket had been and thanked all helpers and participants.  Alice then welcomed along guests from The Rotary Club of Te Aroha who are always great supporters of our Auction nights and Kevin Deene from Morrinsville who was our outstanding auctioneer.

In members announcements, Tom Stevenson from the Rotary Club of Te Aroha was invited to brief us on the upcoming visit to the Rotary Club of Paeroa by the Kentucky Friendship Exchange Group on Monday April 3rd. There will be a Dinner at the Paeroa RSA @ $25.00 per head, 5.30pm meet for a 6pm start. Numbers required no later that the 31st March.
Sounds like it could be a fun evening!  All welcome.

Leonie Tisch thanked the 8 hearty souls, who started in the wee small hours of the morning last weekend, to help with the event of Run the Runway in Hamilton. Leonie said it was a fantastic event with plenty of fun had by all. Maybe we can rustle up a few more helpers next year!

President Alice then introduced Walton School Principal Jeremy Kurth and his Deputy Principal Kane Fraser. Jeremy said that the school was in desperate need for a new school bus and the amount that they needed to raise was quite a mission for a small rural school. Jeremy said that he was a little apprehensive about approaching our club initially to ask for funds to help with the purchase and was completely blown away when we gave them $5000.00.

So knowing that the school would require much more than that, it was decided that the proceeds of our auction night would go to the Walton School to help contribute to the purchase of their bus.

So lets get the auction started!!!!!

Auctioneer Kevin Deene getting warmed up and raring to go.

A great line up of donated items

Auctioneer in Action!!

Maybe Aladdins Magic Carpet?

We even had the odd item that confused Kevin.

And Peter Vossen putting himself up for Auction!

All in all, it was a fantastic night, raising a huge $3485.00. Great work!

Fun and appreciation shown by President Alice, Deputy Principal Kane Fraser and Principal Jeremy Kurth.
