Parting Thought

Remember - most of your stress comes from the way you respond, not the way life is.
Adjust your attitude.
Change how you see things.
Look for the good in all situations.
Take the lesson and find new opportunities to grow.
Let all the stress and worrying and over thinking go.😊
Thanks to Graham Motion.

Good evening fellow Rotarians

Great to see the sun shining out there 😊

President Alice welcomed everyone and announced that our club received a Silver Certificate for contributions given to Shelterbox last year. What a Fantastic effort!!

Alice then gave us a brief rundown of the workings of the Rotary Club of Good Hope in South Africa. Chartered in 1958, it has 16 members and sponsors two Interact Clubs. They recently fulfilled the dreams of the Ocean View Soccer Club by presenting them with full sets of gear for all of the children.

They also do a huge amount of work as Friends of Child Protection doing community work in high risk areas. Later this year they are planning on having a masquerade ball to raise funds for End Polio Now.
Great work!!

Guest Speaker - John Tarbutt
  • Merv introduced our guest speaker John Tarbutt who is has been a Rotarian  since 1981 and came to speak to us on the Regionalisation program
John gave a very informative presentation on what the progam is about and how it looks at Creating a Rotary of tomorrow in Zone 8, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. He discussed how we need an inclusive, diversive and collaborative approach to attract new members as we currently have a declining membership of around 24%. How can we be better connected?
He encouraged us all to go to the website
creatingrotarytomorrow.com to learn more.

Thanked by Eric Muckle, it was a very informative evening.
