Members Announcements
Lianne gave update on the Rotary Interact project. They are working hard on their study garden.
David H kindly thanked Maz, for her efforts in organising the costumes for this year's District conference. Sadly we didn't even get into the top three... but if there had been a popular vote we may well have won that!
Nicole then thanked Sheryl and Brenda Linnell for their help with her Diamond Lab stall at the conference. Sheryl did a fabulous job of the signage, and Brenda helped, giving Nicole an extra pair of hands and a chance to get lunch etc.
Zanthe is off to Carmel, New York, USA for a 16 week stint as a life guard at the Green Chimneys Summer Camp. There will be around 400 children aged 4-15 years old. They come from all walks of life, but typically are not successful in the traditional education system, and here are given the opportunity to thrive in an outdoor setting with animals and a high staff-to-student ratio. Before Zanthe starts she is catching up with a friend in NY, this will be a fabulous break before she gets totally immersed in camp duties. On her return, will be stopping in Dallas, Tennessee and Florida - Sydney then home.
Amy Hunter - Wellbeing Coach
When asked what started Amy on her journey, she replies that after her reaction to the Covid vaccination, her ability to do anything physical was a challenge due to her ill health, she then spiralled downwards, putting on over 20kg in weight. Amy reached a point, where as a single parent of four, something needed to be done. She joined a gym and made a small plan to reach a goal to be able to kick a ball around with her kids. As she reached that goal she aimed higher and decided that she would love to have defined muscles, as you can see she has definitely achieved that goal and she has lost around 30kgs! She is a natural body builder who has won many awards and not just in her "natural body" category but against others with steroid aided physiques. Not content with getting the body most of us would dream about - being a mother, and working full-time, she then decided to make changes in her mental health and worked to becoming a fully qualified level 6 Health and Life Coach. Due to her hectic schedule and to ensure she is giving the ultimate in care and attention she will only take on a maximum five clients. Merv gave her a fabulous thanks for taking the time to share her journey with us.
From the Editor:
