Nice fine dry conditions, a bit of wind helped the acorns fall from the Oak tree; but this 'Spud in the Bucket' weigh in was again a family fun event for our community.
We had a reasonable amount of buckets presented for weigh in. But even so, bragging rights was hotly contested between Matamata Service Clubs- Kiwanis, Lions, and Rotary members. Let alone our Matamata family participants who enthusiastically participated. Miles of smiles all round. So the winner of the Spud in the Bucket Trophy 2019, went to John Fernyhough. He thanked his coach, Maureen for turning on the sprinkler !!!! often.
