Hi everyone
Well what a fantastic surprise to walk into Rotary this week and see Ross Bay sitting there, after spending 5 weeks in hospital. Ross has been through quite some ordeal and expressed his thanks and appreciation to those who were able to visit him in hospital and to all who prayed for him or simply kept him in their thoughts. Ross also commented that during his days in hospital, he had almost constant contact with his friends and those that he has worked with in Kenya, via Whats-ap. They were a great inspiration and encouragement to him.
We have really missed you Ross and are so happy to see you back. Keep on improving and doing what you are told so that you can start dishing out that cheek once again. Take Care. Xo

President Alice Albright opened the meeting with a beautiful family photo on screen and the announcement that their family will increase by one, later this year. Congratulations Alice, Ashley and Ava. We all look forward to welcoming another little budding Rotarian.
Alice then went on to award Michelle Tanner her Triple Sapphire Pin (4th) Paul Harris Fellow for her tireless work for Rotary, and especially on this occasion, for her work and contributions to Polio Plus.
Alice then invited Michelle to tell us about the PolioPlus Society. This is a Society that encourages Rotarians to commit to giving US $100.00 every year until Polio is eradicated. We're almost there!!! Let’s all be part of the team that gets polio eradication across the line.
Michelle then asked David Hulme to come up and join her and she then presented David with a Certificate and a PolioPlus Society pin for his contribution to Polio Plus.
Well done David.

The fund has helped by way of items like school uniforms, spectacles, footwear, school stationery and more.
Applications can be made via local Rotary Clubs and can be from such organisations as schools, NZ Police, Health nurses, Budget Advisory services, medical professionals and various trusts assisting families in need.
Corolyn encouraged us to go on the Rotary District 9930 Website and read more information about the JR McKenzie Youth Education Trust Fund.

And let us not forget that today is ANZAC Day, a time for us to reflect and remember those who have gone before us and who sacrificed themselves for the benefit of others.
