Sad to say that we have lost two of our past members very recently, Brian Williams and John Townshend. Our thoughts go out to their respective families.
Just a reminder to everyone that you will have committee meetings on the 7th February at the club.
Not sure what is happening here but I think perhaps David Hulme has lost a marble????
Please remember that you must ring the club answer phone and apologize or advise of extra guests before 9am on any meeting date.
Parting Thought
This ones from me.
Two great Principles for a Happy Life:
1) Use things , not people.
2) Love people, not things.
Catch you on Tuesday and Keep smiling.
Happy New Year fellow Rotarians and welcome to 2023
Well isn't it great to be back! Our first meeting back was a wonderful social affair with a good turnout of members, all keen for a catchup! Held at the Merchant Matamata, we had a feast of finger food to enjoy as we shared our holiday highlights and enjoyed the fellowship of those around us.
It was so cool to hear the friendly banter and lots of laughs had by all and a beautiful summer evening.
Unfortunately we also bid farewell to long standing member Bryce Scott (below) and his lovely wife Sonia, who has also been a long time member of Inner Wheel. They will be making their way to Cambridge to live but have promised to come back for a visit. Bryce has always been a willing hand at any working bee he attended and was a great help with lawn mowing for concert by the lake, among many other things. Bryce commented that he has loved his time in Rotary and has never had so many girlfriends. His good humor and sharp wit will be greatly missed. Good on you Bryce.
