Peter with sadness indicated this being Daniella Navarrete, Rotary Youth Exchangee last Rotary meeting, before she departs home to Santo Domingo,Chile. He hoped that Dani has this chapter so far in her life, booked marked in her memory. Peter said" this will cheer you up", as he presented an All Black Jersey , plus a Rotary Scholastic Badge to Dani. Nathan Gann ,Senior Pastor Matamata Baptist Church introduced by Fred Barrett, that included a short spell in hospital not long after he arrived in Matamata. Married to Elisabeth and they have two young children. The Gann family are from Iowa State, USA. Christmas is for family togetherness, touched on already unique differences between the US and NZ in how we celebrate the season of good will with presents. Yes, Christmas always brings back memories as a child. Presents, plenty of them! US tradition is Christmas eve, around the tree and each one of the family gets one present. As adults, have we lost touch with those memories as we approach this Christmas with our respective families. He also remembers every year TV had reruns of 'White Christmas' starring Bing Crosby or Jimmy Stewart in 'Wonderful Life'. He asked our assembly, What is a wonderful life? How do we define it? does dreams meet reality! He recants on the figure portrayed by Jimmy Stewart, a person who belived nobody will miss him if he took his own life. Until an Angel appeared as he was asking for help by prayer to help him take his own life. The Angel took him back to his town, and showed him that he will be missed and what unbeknown to himself; his contribution to that community. He learned what a difference a person can make in a community, so live to discover the richness of life. Do we take for granted as an adult memories that fizzles in your mindset as being too familiar . Go back to your childhood, relish that child like wonder. The ripple effects go everywhere. Christmas is the perfect time to reflect, and really enjoy Christmas Day. Kevin Kent in thanking Pastor Nathan Gann endorsed his Christmas Message, a message that we could all understand .

Christmas Trees $40 and $50. Owen Farmilo has a roster of volunteers who put their names forward, but more would be most helpful at the Mitre 10 sales site, from 8am onwards this Saturday anmd next Saturday morning. Remaining Sales dates 16th and 23rd December.
Christmas in the Park. Wade Linnell Appreciated the diligent job member volunteers did on the gates. Over $1000 more collected at concert entry points than last year. Indicative of 4000 attending Christmas in the Park 2017. Again, thank you to members who gave their time to support me.

No Money NO tarts !! Christmas tarts that is. Leo K. had finished his member deliveries. On a side note, a customer of his was so impressed with the Rotary Matamata Christmas Parade Float, that she is buying tickets to Concert by the Lake 2018.(CBL) Leo indicated it will be 'all on' early next year to promote CBL 2018.
Mike Farrell Will receive gifts for the Food Bank until this Friday at his Broadway business house. This gives Food bank volunteers time to collate all the donations.
Save a life capsules reconfigured to meet Pharmac rules are now available for Purchase.Cost $12 Packet of soluble Aspirin per three capsule set. Lyn Dobbechampion for this Club project.Fact, they actually have literally saved lives.
Michelle Tanner does ask for any unused capsules be returned to her, or remove the previous Aspirin, so to meet legal drug detail requirements . The capsule has good other uses , possibly folding up a $20 note , could come in useful if also attached to vehicle key rings.

Dani presented her valedictory address to members and guests of Rotary Matamata.
She with enthusiasm, spoke of her past year, which to her has literally flown by. Has had so many wonderful experiences, of what New Zealand has to offer. A small audio/visual portrayed on screen on some of those. BUNGY jump seems to be the absolute highlight. Apparently a good cure for constipation !!!!! (said in different terminology ! ha ha )
Few years ago Dani had a dream of being an exchange student, with a tear "This past year has been better than a dream". She emphasised that this opportunity has encouraged her to be capable to achieve further challenges in her life. Looking forward to be going home to family and friends, but also not looking forward to saying goodbye to the good people of New Zealand , my host families of Rotary Matamata who were most caring of me, and members of the Club who have contributed to my life changing Rotary Youth Exchange experience. I enjoyed attending Matamata College, and have made many friends. In my preparation for my exchange to New Zealand, I was told the first month and last month, will be the hardest. The first month for me was easy, it is this last month that is a bit emotive. I have been blessed of this opportunity with Rotary Matamata, and I thank my Club counsellor Maz McIvor. I will cherish the memories of being an adopted KIWI I think.
Dani presentó su discurso de despedida a los miembros e invitados de Rotary Matamata. Ella con entusiasmo, habló de su último año, que literalmente le pasó volando. Ha tenido tantas experiencias maravillosas, de lo que Nueva Zelanda tiene para ofrecer. Un pequeño audio / visual retratado en la pantalla en algunos de esos. BUNGY jump parece ser el punto culminante absoluto. ¡Aparentemente una buena cura para el estreñimiento! (dijo en terminología diferente! ja, ja) Hace algunos años, Dani soñó con ser un estudiante de intercambio, con una lágrima "Este año pasado fue mejor que un sueño". Ella enfatizó que esta oportunidad la ha alentado a ser capaz de lograr mayores desafíos en su vida. Tengo muchas ganas de volver a casa con mi familia y amigos, pero también no tengo ganas de despedirme de la buena gente de Nueva Zelanda, de mis familias anfitrionas de Rotary Matamata que me han cuidado mucho y de los miembros del Club que han contribuido a mi la experiencia de intercambio de jóvenes de Rotary cambia la vida. Disfruté asistir a Matamata College, y he hecho muchos amigos. En mi preparación para mi intercambio con Nueva Zelanda, me dijeron que el primer mes y el mes pasado serían los más difíciles. El primer mes para mí fue fácil, es este último mes que es un poco emotivo. He sido bendecido con Rotary Matamata y agradezco a mi consejero Maz McIvor. Voy a apreciar los recuerdos de ser un KIWI adoptado, creo.
