President David found Lynette's Cake a distraction, as members were hovering around that in the kitchen, as he tried to get the meeting underway on time. Welcome, has been a lot happening past two weeks. Musical Theatre, great evening. Opening of the Interact project of the basketball facility, really impressed by the Interact leadership in organising the court and opening. Great community asset. Michelle Tanner deserves recognition of her efforts as well. Rotary Te Aroha auction was fun, noticed Lyn Dobbe notched up quite a few items to bring back !! This auction helped raise $2800.Congratulations to David Hulme, appointed Assistant Governor Area 3 of District 9930.(acclamation by assembly). Received letter of resignation from Rexine Hawes. I replied that we fully understood the demands of a young family and career, and wished her and her family well. Our Club auction is on June 18th, time for us to contribute useful items for that event, Morrinsville and Te Aroha members attending. Farm Watch: As with most dairy Farms , this season has concluded. Production ended up 8% down on last year. Grass is growing, 40kgs/ha/day. Rain last few days 30mls, soil temperature 14c, Rotation 90 days. Hopefully have 2200 kgs/dm/ha pasture cover by mid June. Cows in good nic. Recommend you look after your new grass swards, with appropriate management. I did get a bit of duck shooting in, my uncle setting fire to the Mimi! was an experience.

Guests introduced by Carl Tookey. Christine first to speaker. Her father a Rotarian, and for many year's their family got involved with the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Life should not be that stressful, Have to--should do . Longevity of life secret, keep healthy. Explained that light therapy can really assist with that. Disease prevention means isease healing. Statistics show the average of death after retirement, is 3 years # Months. Sam first comments was the noticeable difference of an urban and rural Rotary Club. Urban conversations are around traffic delays, rubbish collection, queues where tonight, you talk about the present management of farms, as autumn has arrived. Then he went into some of the technical side of the different light spectrums that help relieve different body issues. Bioptron visual light spectrum replicates natural sunlight colour spectrums. Bioptron are used a lot by the equine industry in New Zealand. This technology was started by a German company, but now owned by a Swiss Company, and product available in 60 countries. Bioptron light spectrum treatment helps cells repair faster, especially arthritic suffers. It is not laser type light. Bioptron measured in lumens, no heat, just light spectrums.C16 particle molecule . Bioptron -simple tool for the home. Best investment is our health. It is not a diagnostic tool. Don't have health, don't have a quality of life. In New Zealand, complimentary therapy is not really promoted. But Biopton therapy is used at StarShip and Middlemore Hospitals, and all the Springboks have one. Krishnansami Narayanasami thanked them both for their presentation, and will do some reading on the subject, as dental problems were also noted as being treated by Bioptron.

David Wheadon. Thank you again to the Rotarians who helped make Matamata Brass Festival of Music last Sunday, a successful event. At the Intermediate School Hall, 13 bands from 14 to 65 members each; were in those orchestra's . David estimates nearly 1000 people over the whole day were on campus. Many complimentary comments from visiting teams, as to the efficient way we ( Rotary)made things happen, in changing set ups for each group and controlled entry and exit from the hall. Matamata Brass must be chuffed on how their event panned out.
David Hulme, as part of the Rotarian team, thanked David Wheadon for having things under control for the job we were tasked to do in support of Matamata Brass. "Promotes Rotary very well" was David Wheadon's right of reply and thank you.
Club Auction David Hulme June 18th. David asks, contributions to that auction by members, be identified to David before the event, so he can itemise those before the night, As items being brought by Rotarians from Morrinsville and Te Aroha are then the only items that have to be added to the inventory of auction items.

Who Inspired Me... Kevin Sing.
Kevin said there is no 'h' in his Sing surname. Not connected in any way to the Indian continent. But derived from the Great Britain town of Bridgnorth surname Millington, a Mill Town on the Severn River. Millington like Cooper, or Smith reflected their occupation. In the time of Henry V111, Millington morphed into Synge then to Sing, because one of Kevin's ancestors was Choir Master for Henry 8th. Another ancestor John Sing, a preacher when going about his work, found a shilling every time , in same spot time on the road. Which he gave away to the needy. One day , he inadvertently used it to buy a drink-- from that time on, no more shillings. Then another family tree member Joshua Sing, was the first Mayor of Bridgnorth 1830. Where the Sing Coat of Arms Crest is embellished in a stained glass window, in Council Chambers. In 1861, another family tree member Frederick Sing came to New Zealand. Married 10 years later, Kevin's grandfather Charles farmed at Tatanui and Kevin appeared at Waitoa, and then they came to Matamata in 1956. Kevin is really inspired by his ancestry achievements . Arise Sir Kevin !

Grenville Stocker. Matamata College Interact in his opinion, are in need to do some fund raising. We should give this some thought, so to help in that regard.
