Volume 79 - No 24
4 March 2025
President Wade and his team for 2024/25
Kia ora to everyone attending the club night. Always a less formal evening and everyone was in good form. Here's a little history for you...
March 4th used to be the date of the presidential inauguration in the United States, before it was changed to January 20th in the 1930s. So, March 4th has a historical association with new beginnings and fresh starts!
Members Announcements

David H would like everyone attending this year's conference in Rotorua to stay behind after next meeting for a quick chat regarding this. Need to sort Saturday night costumes, we have some ideas but happy to hear more. He then went on to ask again if anyone else could attend Morrinsville quiz night. He appreciates it is same day as Hobbiton marathon, but we still need a couple more people.
Stew, on behalf of Robert S (off from knee surgery) advised that as April has five Tuesdays and traditionally there is no meeting on the 5th one, that instead we will be swapping and not having a meeting on the 22nd, as it is in between two long weekends.
Eli went to her first rugby game with David H and Jane at Hamilton. She knows how to chant for the Chiefs now! It was such a good tight game and exciting for everyone with a well deserved win to the home team.
Michelle advised that on April 1st we would host another membership event. This time not aimed at any particular age but rather an open information evening, so a chance to bring someone who may be interested in joining or just wants to learn what Rotary is all about.
Graeme G gave update on Merv K, who is home after also having knee surgery, he is on the mend.

PARTING THOUGHT

Thank you Peter T.

Michelle and David H did a quick presentation on investing into the Rotary Foundation Endowment fund with some of the money bequeathed to our Club. They have sent out an email with more information to all Club members. If you disagree with this concept or want more information please contact either Michelle or David - there is a two week period allocated for this. After that the Board will then meet to consider any objections.
