The Rotary year seems to have  flown bye I think.
David Hulme will be handing over the Chains of Office to Michelle Tanner next month.
  • Wanna be different !!!
  • Up for a challenge!!!
  • No surprises on what can be achieved
  • Food for thought!!
Rotary has talent! What a catch phrase. Perhaps we should do some thespian fun stuff at our club nights, with the possible outcome of doing something special and left field as we, Rotary Club of Matamata host next years change over.
Could be skits,( we not long ago enjoyed the thespian skills of members present some history of Matamata), music, that is fairly easy to get the words too..............I would say many fellow Rotarians my age remember that song anthem of a few years ago ----10 Guitars !!
The fine attributes of our club individual members are well known, but collectively we are really awesome. That fact is well observed by our local community with the successful projects our club has achieved. There would be no real impediment as far as I can see, to do something special of a good entertainment value when we host District 9930 in 2017.

I believe my fellow peer club members are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship. Becoming a Rotarian connects you with a diverse group who have gone beyond their comfort level to achieve an outcome, and personal satisfaction.

Our 1.2 million-member organisation started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.
Invite an acquaintance to visit us at an upcoming meeting.
STEW'S News !!!!!!

I do not have a writen list of our next Rotary year Directors and other members who are not delegated club meeting duties, to hand right now. But some where in the Clubrunner system I am sure I will be able to do a formal separate club duty weekly rosters. LOOK OUT FOR THAT.
Merv King has advised me that he will be unavailable until mid August.
I will be having my left hip replaced August 17th, so I seek someone to cover for me while I am recovering from that. 40 years of walking on concrete milking cows !!!! I will then  have two titanium hips.

A reminder --- The dress colour code theme for our changeover is RED .
  1. They have a band of men and all they do is play for me
They come from miles around to hear them play a melody
Beneath the stars my ten guitars will play a song for you
And if you're with the one you love this is what you do
CHORUS
Oh, dance, dance, dance to my ten guitars 1
And very soon you know just where you are 2
Through the eyes of love you see a thousand stars 3
When you dance, dance, dance, to my ten guitars
  1. Guitars are made for love my band of men will always say 4
So give each one a pretty girl and they will start to play 5
Beneath the stars my ten guitars will play a song for you
And if you're with the one you love this is what to do
CHORUS
  1. Ooh, let me tell you now dance, dance, dance to my ten guitars
Hm, come on, everybody, dance dance dance to my ten guitars
