Well, Well ,Well, A very entertaining evening at the Matamata Musical Theatre production of Rome Sweet Rome, for our Christmas Function. We were well looked after, comfortable table arrangements, nice meal and a great show with audience participation. There is a lot of thespian talent within our own community, and we were presented with a quality show of fun dialogue, visual contrasts, ideal music and song and a moral story of good wins over bad. Not to mention Rotarian Ross Bay who had a snip of a part in the actual production, but three of our function party had five minutes of instant fame and stardom!! Peter Vossen, Leo Kingston and Dale Ertel were talent scouted from the audience , to be male fairies in sleek looking Tutu's. With the task of bringing the Temple Maidens out of a spell bound slumber. The whole scene was an absolute gem for the audience, great mirth and laughter throughout, as they 'danced' around the fallen Temple Maidens. Their task was to act and sound like male Swans, with mating calls!!!, love chants etcetera . Leo Looked like a one armed paper hanger at one stage, Peter certainly indicated his Dutch ancestry with Swan like wing arm movements similar the Netherlands Bird song Dance action and Dale Ertel , we are sure was trying to prevent a ream of loose A4 hitting the ground !! Ha Ha great fun part of the show , and certainly added to a most successful evening at the theatre. Our thanks to the Musical Theatre Club, it's production crew and actors and caterer for the effort they have obviously put quality time into, for our entertainment and pleasure. We will be back for another show I think.

A bit more top soil and a further raking, then grass seed was sown last Thursday.
Robert Stuart after deliberation with fellow Rotarians, reference the sowing rate of the grass seed on the corporate terraces. We decided to forget about the 3.5 grams per square metre, and opted for the quite technical application rate of:- One for the pigeon, one for the crow, one that will go rotten and one that will grow! Just need a bit of rain now.
What are you smiling about, Rotarians?

A good night of entertainment and fellowship at our Christmas Function.
