For those of you who haven't registered yet to come and meet our International President Gordon McInally in Hamilton, I urge you to do so. This is an informal mix and mingle event with Gordon and Heather. It is to be held at the Novotel Tainui on Thursday 6th June (5pm till 7.30pm) - Must register.
This event has come from Gordon approaching DG Bill Robinson regarding a visit to New Zealand. This will be the first time a sitting International President has visited our district, so let's make them welcome. Partners are also most welcome to come along to hear Gordon and meet them both.

Michelle Tanner gave us an update on those of our members who are not well at the moment. Please keep them in your thoughts. It was fantastic to see Robert Stuart back with us and looking great after his heart operation.

David Hulme named Michelle Tanner as the Good Sort this week for doing an outstanding job with the prospective members evening and as a result, we will soon be inducting some new members.

Miranda thanked those who were able to help with the street collection for the Wespac Helicopter appeal. Don't forget the quiz night coming up next week.

The lucky person to try and guess the Mystery Rotarian this week was Miranda Thomson.
Clues for the mystery Rotarian, were as follows –
1) I have worked overseas.
2) I have lived in 14 different houses
3) I have had 9 concussions
On the first clue, Miranda thought that this could just about be anyone in the club, so that really didn't help.
On the second clue, again, given the average age of our members, this could have been anyone, so Miranda decided to focus on the last clue.
Miranda Googled Concussion - Self Diagnosis and the answer came up as Headaches, confusion, sleepiness and dizziness so Miranda thought well that could happen after too many wines, so that meant that all of the women and half of the men drinking wine tonight were now suspects.
But to have 9 concussions, Miranda thought that it couldn't be one of our younger members but it must be a sports person, or some one dealing with horses or farm animals.
So her hit list was:
Garry Moore - Race horses and also lived & worked overseas.
Roisin McQuillan - a vet who also lived & worked overseas.
Job Bruins - Also involved with horses.
David Gasquoine - Looks like he would have been a rugby player and also a farmer.
Owen Westlake - Farmer and sure he would have played rugby.
Robbie Pearson - Rugby, engineering (might have hit his head)
Peter Vossen - Builder, soccer player
So Miranda felt that she was getting no where fast, so she called quite a few people and they all said that they hadn't had 9 concussions, but if we go back to what Google says that after concussion you might suffer confusion and memory loss, so that brought her back to mostly everyone again.
So after much contemplating, Miranda narrowed it down to two people - Maz McIvor - lived and worked in the UK, buys and sells houses and a wee bit accident prone, or Mike Steiner - Drove trucks in Aussie and was a rodeo rider.
In the end, Miranda named Mike Steiner as her mystery Rotarian but she was wrong!! The real mystery Rotarian was in fact Zanthe Kitney. Zanthe was not at Rotary but we will all look forward to her stories about her 9 concussions, the next time she is at Rotary.
