Guest Speaker - Ruby Deare
Ruby enjoyed her RANZE 2019 Exchange to Strathallan School Adelaide.  Made a lot of new friends.  Spider bite.  A favourite part was Dream World on Brisbane trip.  Visited Blue Mountains with other exchange students. Thank you Matamata Rotary for sponsorship.  Mum Miranda reckons Ruby has more confidence.
Guest Speaker - Krishna Narayanasami
Krishna spoke to us about his involvement with the Satya Sai New Zealand group and Fiji Medical Camp 2018.  Volunteering with this group is as a result of a chance encounter.  Krishna has been volunteering every year now.  It puts him in the field and is challenging.  2018 was especially interesting because visited smaller islands of Ovalau, Koro and Gau which are not well connected. Doctors, Dentists, other professionals and lay helpers are part of a multi disciplinary team.  Usually 4:30 am starts.  Dentists focus on extractions.  Usually 3 Phases of this sort of trip; the exciting planning, but 2 days or so in thinking hard work and why did I do this, then sense of achievement and euphoria. Often patients have travelled from 2am the day before and have camped over night.  Patients are very appreciative.  The difficulties the patients face do not seem to take the joy out of them.  Fiji is an amazing place with beautiful scenery and Krishna feels blessed to have been there.  It is hard work and not for the faint hearted.
