Please, please remember to put your apologies in before 9am on a Rotary day, this includes non diners please. We are still having trouble with a lot of members not apologizing and just not showing up.

Well team, this is my last newsletter, as I hand over the reins to a very capable Maz who has already been there and done that. I hope you have enjoyed the newsletters over the last couple of years and I apologise for getting them out rather late at times. Hopefully there haven't been too many mistakes, although I am sure that there will have been a few, so humble apologies if I have spelt your name wrong along the way, or put the wrong dates, or whatever, these things happen. Make sure that you keep Maz informed of anything that needs to be in the newsletter, she might seem like she is super human at times, but she is not a mind reader.
Take care everyone. Yours in Rotary, Sheryl.

We are going to need cup cakes for this day so get baking or buying plain cupcakes for decoration if that is easier. All shapes, sizes and colours gratefully received - a little jaffa for a nose would be great!
The Public Image Committee is in charge of this event so more details to come.
Lincoln Students will be coming our way again on the 26th and 27th August so please let Peter Vossen Know if you are able to help. A shunt sheet will be going around soon.

Q checking out some random spies
They were everywhere
And some stood out more than others!
Even the Three Amigos turned up.
And then some were just cute.
Hi everyone
Well he came in all guns a blazing at a fantastic changeover night on Tuesday, super spy Wade Linnell aka President of Matamata Rotary or El Presidente.
We bid farewell to the great bunch of dedicated Rotary Directors below and welcomed in a new bunch of keen Directors to manage us through the next Rotary Year.
Below are some of the new team, but we were missing a few on the night. I'm sure we will have an updated photo soon when they are all back on deck.
Our evening was opened in style as always by Agent Q, aka David Hulme, here is a snippet from his opening address.
Good evening everyone โ my name is Q and M has charged me with the most important job in the world โ finding a replacement for Belton, Jane Belton 005 (foot nothing). The step will be retired along with her but finding the right person to carry on a 77-year legacy is critical.
Q and his sidekick
Why chose me Q for the task? Well frankly Iโm not sure โ maybe N, O and P were all busy or potentially Ian Fleming had no place for them in his stories but nevertheless the fact remains that I need to find Janeโs successor.
But I have not limited myself to 00s oh no, no, no. In the interests of inter-agency co-operation, to ensure we get the right agent for the job, I have cast the net far and wide.
After all, this is a very important mission โ weโve been creating hope in the world this year and now its time to provide the magic of Rotary for all to see.
We need someone up for the challenge. A new not-so-secret agent, a man who can show us the Magic of Rotary while we continue to create hope in the world.
And after an exhaustive search I can tell you that that man is Linnell, Wade Linnell โ code sign double N double L in case you were wondering.
David then invited President Jane to speak and to present the Service Above Self Award.
Jane thanked the club members but especially her directors who had contributed so much over the year. Jane then called up Peter Vossen to come forward and accept the Service Above Self award for all of his tireless work and great organisational skills over the past year.
Jane then showed a brief presentation with some of the highlights of her year as President.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jane then invited Wade Linnell to come forward and accept the Presidential Chains and Rotary banner for the coming year... although she did make him come down to her level.
Wade thanked Jane and all of the club members and said that he was looking forward to the coming year. He also reiterated the importance to all members of being able to "Come as you are and do what you can". Wade said that he was looking forward to working with his team of directors over the coming year and to being able to show "The Magic Of Rotary".
All the very Best for your Rotary Year Wade. I know you will do a fantastic job and the club will support you and your directors.
Cheers - Sheryl
