Afternoon everyone. Bit damp around the edges today, but still a great day.
On Tuesday, we were very fortunate to be given a guided tour of The Boltholder premises. If you have never been, it is truly mind boggling to see and experience the magnitude of this Business, which Peter and Ineke Thissen started from nothing in 1983 after immigrating to New Zealand from Holland.

The Boltholder currently operates with 4 Directors, Peter & Ineke Thissen and David & Lisette Hulme and 15 staff.
They have one numerous awards including the Matamata Piako District Council Overall Business Excellence Award in 2017.

I know we all think of little nuts and bolts, but these are some of the somewhat larger ones!
The Boltholder supplies over 3500 customers annually, nationwide. Some of the many projects they have been involved in and supplied products for are a Geothermal Power Station, Metso Rock Crushers, the construction of the Wellington Cake Tin, Bay Park Speedway, a Methanol Plant in New Plymouth to name just a few. They also supply directly to some very large companies like Waratah, Oceania Gold and Ravensdown.

In the last 12 months, they have processed over 40,500 orders. Of these 11,000 were placed online through their web store with these orders being both account holders and Cash customers. Within the 40,500 orders, their team have picked over 169,000 lines. Since opening their web store, over 240 new customers (companies) have opened an account with them.
Lisette explained to us the logistics of getting supplies from across the world. Absolutely mind boggling.
The Boltholder holds over 13,800 different items of stock, together holding a total of over 15 million pieces of stock with an approximate total weight of over 500 tonne. Due to the magnitude of their business, they have to run a rolling stocktake to keep track of their stock levels to make sure they can supply as requested.
We were also very lucky to have Don and Vivi Thomas (centre) join us accompanied by Leonie and Lindsay Tisch. Don and Vivi are from Calgary USA District 5360 and also Phoenix Arizona District 5495.
