Hi there everyone

This week we had a bit of a different format to our meeting, in that after a bit of a rundown and members announcements, we then all had our committee meetings at the club. I think it worked very well and there was lots of friendly banter and great ideas.

Committee meetings in progress.

President Alice Clothier opened the meeting with a brief rundown of another club, this time the Cairo Cosmopolitan Rotary Club. Chartered in 1989 it is the only English speaking Rotary club in Egypt.

Their main focus is on Wastewater, Sanitization and Health and have also been involved in establishing Biogas units where needed. They supply around 300 food packages each Ramadan and also help clothe and feed around 175 children at an orphanage.
Outstanding work!!!

David Hulme in action!!
David Hulme gave us a brief rundown of the Regionalization Pilot program for Zone 8 being Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Zone 8 has had a 25% decrease in membership over the last 25years. The pilot is to look at ways that we can streamline how Rotary works, especially at a district level. This will enhance Rotary and Rotoract to be sure that we remain relevant, and this can only be done with the support of clubs. Our vote was taken and carried unanimously.

Stew Wadey gave us a reminder that Spud in a Bucket will be coming up soon as well as lots of other great ideas from the Membership Committee.

All in all, there are lots of great ideas and projects coming up from all of the committees, so keep an eye on the members announcements as there maybe something that you would be keen to help with.

Keep smiling and have a great weekend.😊
