Council on Legislation. Every three years, Rotarians meet at the Council on Legislation to review and vote on proposed changes to the legislation that governs Rotary. They consider enactments, which change Rotary’s governing documents, and position statements by the RI Board. Council on Resolutions. The Council on Resolutions meets online every year to vote on proposed resolutions, which express opinions and make recommendations to the Board. Council representatives. Each Rotary district chooses a representative for a three-year term. These members represent their districts at all three meetings of the Council on Resolutions and at the Council on Legislation during their term. District governors have until 30 June 2017 to report to Rotary their district representatives for the term covering 1 July 2017 through 30 June 2020. Representatives will participate in: The 2017, 2018, and 2019 Councils on Resolutions. The 2019 Council on Legislation. Proposing legislation and resolutions Clubs, districts, the RI Board, and the RIBI general council or conference may submit legislation and resolutions to the Councils. The deadline for submitting legislation for the 2019 Council on Legislation is 31 December 2017.The deadline for submitting resolutions to the 2017-18 Council on Resolutions is 30 June 2017. Rotary World Wide Parliament oversees the Rotary International constitution, Individual Rotary Clubs constitutions mirror RI’s constitution, but with caveats that clubs can enact byelaws to suit their local needs. Council on resolutions meet every year online, Michelle advised all meetings of Parliament will be held online, as of next year. Michelle referred members to the Rotary District initiative of simply achieve a net growth of 4 new members between 1st December 2016 and 30th May 2017 and a grant will be presented for your new members to use as seed funding on a new Community Project of their choice! There are ten $1000 grants up for grabs.

Club was convened into Assembly for Half Year AGM. 3 members indicated non receipt of documents sent through clubrunner, that issue resolved by President Michelle. Meeting agenda proceeded, Minutes of previous meeting agreed to, Financial report and one explanation agreed to. No prior notification or from the meeting items of general Business.
Past Presidents chair Eric Muckle announced 2018/19 club officers; President - David Gasquoine, Secretary - David Johnson, Treasurer - Miranda Thomson, Membership -Mike Farrell, Foundation-Lynette Stanley, Public Image - David Parker, Service Projects - Owen Farmilo. Next chair of past Presidents committee , Graeme Guildford.
Movember contestsant raised $911.
Projects committee announced the continuation of the walkway, utilising part of the Lesley Stanley property. Maps were shown to show the proposed route. There will be a more detailed briefing of what has to be done, when this project will due to start, which will be after the concert in February 2017.

Bryce Scott has totally enjoyed is 17 years involvement with Rotary. He felt honoured being presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship. He appreciates the regular fun and laughter experiences being part of Rotary Matamata. His highlights are all the memorable Rotary projects he has contributed to, and hopes he can be involved in many more.

Next years project for continuation of the Walkway plan is well in hand.
Our Financial remittance to Pakistan, for the school project at Juang has finally been received by the appropriate people.
Rotary Christmas trees price has unfortunately had to be increased , but should be good value all the same. 6 foot tree $40, 7 foot tree $50
Matamata Christmas Parade ,our club Santa Parade people to be on the Rotary float, mixed age and gender would be ideal, then some walkers on the parade as well if you wish. Meet 10.30am at The Bolt Holder this Saturday 3rd December.
Great result for our club Movember participants. Their efforts resulted in $911 with Directors making the total up to $1000. Well done the Movember team!
Fred Barrett advised that a Rotary Group Study group from Ladner , Canada. That we are hosts next Year. Dates presented are nights of 19th,20th and 21st March, they will attend our meeting on Tuesday 21st. 4 couples and 1 female single. Contact Fred if your are able to host our fellow Rotarians from Ladner. More accurate info as to two days of activity has been suggested and contingent names , any dietary request info will be confirmed ASP. (Ladnercreated as a fishing village on the banks of the Fraser River. It is a part of the Municipality of Delta, British Columbia, Canada, and a suburb of Vancouver)
Zoe Clothier, A former Rotary Matamata Club RYE student, now a young artiste working hard to make it in the contemporary art world. 'The Beginning' display of her painted works to view and purchase,the dates and times are 9th to 11th December, 9.30am to 5pm @ 17 Main Road Tirau. Rotarians are invited to an opening night drink and nibbles Thursday 8th December 5pm to 8pm, for viewing and appreciating her talent.

Concert by the lake working bee last weekend achieved heaps. Leo K. and Jeanette Crook President of Huntly Rotary club, When on a recent concert promotion visit to Rotary Huntly.
Bryce "the mowerman" S. presented his PRM this meeting. He is nurturing with judicial mowing, for a good sward of grass for patrons that will attend Concert by the Lake.
