Hi there everyone
My apologies for not getting the newsletter out earlier, but lets just say that it's been one heck of a week.
Special thanks go out this week to all those who were able to help on Saturday 24th with the spreading of mulch, weeding and giving the bench seat a spruce up at the dog park
Fantastic effort. Just check out the photos below!
It was great to see some of the Interactors along last week. Robert Stuart and Michelle Tanner congratulated past committee members Rico, Tayla and Ashley, and presented them with their certificates of appreciation. It was very refreshing and heartening to hear how they all felt that being part of Interact had given them all great direction in finding their place in the greater scheme of things.
Michelle also welcomed and introduced some of the Interact members of the incoming committee,
Priya - President, Marissa - Secretary & Maddie - Projects. These girls are all very enthusiastic and keen to make a difference. We wish them well.
Our speaker for the evening was Abby McDonald whom we helped support to attend the Under 19 Volleyball Championships in Australia. Apologies as my photo of Abby disappeared!!
Abby explained how the competition was pretty fierce between the New Zealand, Australian and American Teams, with some hard fought battles. Overall they had a fantastic tournament with her team coming away with the Gold Medal for the Women's Under 19. The highlights for her was the competition and the friendships made along the way. Abby also plays netball and has been selected for the Waikato Magic Development Squad. Abby thanked the Rotary club members for helping with some financial support, which was greatly appreciated.
Michelle Tanner thanked Abby and reiterated how important and appreciative we as members are, when someone we have helped, comes back and shares their experiences with us. Great work Abby. 😊
Keep smiling and have a great weekend.😊
