Parting Thought

You may say I'm a dreamer,

But I'm not the only one.

I hope someday you'll join us.

And the world will live as one.
-John Lennon

I hope you all sang this one.

With love from me! ðŸ˜Š

Hi everyone. It was so nice to be back last week and to see all of your friendly faces.

Lots of things coming up for us to help with over the next few months, so keep an eye on the newsletter and help out where you can. Could be a good opportunity to bring along a friend who may be interested in what Rotary does. ðŸ˜Š

President Jane Belton opened the meeting and gave us a few interesting facts on this day in history. She also reminded us that this month is Literacy month and is looking into the Dictionaries in schools project which we have participated in previously.

Annual fees will be going up at the end of this month to - Dining Members $107.00 and        Non Dining Members $40.00, so please amend your automatic payment before the 1st October.

Our Speaker this week is Linda Roil from Kids In Need Waikato. President Jane encourages members to bring along items listed below to support this cause. This is our District Governor Bill Robinsons Charity of Choice, so it would be great to show our support by sending Linda away with a load of goodies.

President Jane thanked everyone who was able to help out with the Daffodil Day collection. Ray Coote had coordinated the Rotary helpers and he again thanked everyone and advised that Daffodil Day had raised over $11,000 in our area. What a fantastic effort.

Peter Vossen thank all those who were able to take billets for the Lincoln Students and that this had gone very well with some good positive feedback.

Robbie Pearson investigated the mystery Rotarian from the below clues.
1/ My first car was a Morris 1000 Woody
2/ I played the trumpet in the school band.
3/ I lived on a Navy Base.

He said that he did quite a bit of ringing around and thought that the car clue was Mike Steiner cause that would be right up his alley, but was wrong. He then thought that the Trumpet Playing may have been President Jane, but was wrong. Finally worked on the Navy Base clue and decided that it was Robert Stuart and was correct.

Robbie nominated Owen Westlake to try and guess this weeks mystery Rotarian with the following clues:
1/ Once worked leading horses
2/ Showed jersey cows at shows
3/ Swam the Bridge to Bridge event in Tauranga
