Well hi there fellow Rotarians and others
Well this is the final newsletter of the 2022-2023 year and what a wonderful Rotary year it has been....despite the weather.
What a fantastic night at changeover. It was great to see everyone get into the spirit of the night by dressing in 1920's theme and a well organised evening (thanks to Maz and all involved) and lots of fun was had by all.
President Alice Albright gave us a quick recap of her year, which in her words she has thoroughly enjoyed. From the Rotary Power Hour and supplying kindling for free to those in need, Spud in a Bucket, Tractor Trek, Used Machinery Sale, our club auction, helping at Hobbiton and more, it has been a great year.
Well done Alice.
Alice thanked all of her directors for contributing to such a successful year.
She then performed her last duties as President by presenting two Paul Harris Fellows to Miranda Thomson and Mike Farrell and then presented the Service Above Self award to Miranda Thomson.
Her final duty was to had over the Presidents Chain to our new President Jane Belton (SWMBO 2nd). We wish Jane all the very best for the coming year and know that she will give it 100% and be an inspiration to all.
We also had a short presentation from a past youth exchange recipient Fernando from Brazil. Fernando briefed us on his life from then, 2004, until now and thanked his host families, the club and Rotary for giving him the experience that has shaped him into the man he is today. So good to hear such a positive and appreciative young man. Well done Fernando.
And to wrap it up, here is your new committee for the 2023 - 2024 year, from left to right, Beth Taylor, Wade Linnell, Michelle Tanner, Jane Belton, Leonie Tisch,
Maz McIvor, Stew Wadey and David Johnston.
