The lucky person to try and guess the Mystery Rotarian for next week is Mike Farrell.

Clues for the mystery Rotarian, are as follows –

1) I got lost in the African jungle at night
2) I have been airlifted in the air ambulance following a motor vehicle accident
3) I have served tea to royalty.

Good luck Mike!

Do things for people not because of who they are,
or what they do in return,
but because of who you are.

We had a very Interesting visit this week to Matamata Panel Works. Malcolm Sankey welcomed us onto the sight and gave us a bit of a background of the company.

Malcolm Bought the business some 24 years ago and has invested heavily in modern technology.  They not only do insurance work, but also vehicle restoration and since 2019 became the Shelby New Zealand franchise where they make the Shelby Cars on site, which have a starting price of around $160,000, with their most expensive build being around $600,000. Each car that is made has two plaques under the hood showing the production number and the names of those involved in making the car.

At present, Malcom has 27 Staff, and as far as restoration work goes, they are fully booked for the next 4 years, with over 30 cars in storage. They also mix their own paints and paint the vehicles on site. Matamata Panel Works are considered to be in the top 3 Panel Works in New Zealand.

Malcolm thanks us all for coming and said that they pride themselves on creating a family environment for both their staff and their customers. President Jane Belton thanked Malcolm for a very interesting visit and presented him with an End Polio Now Certificate.
