President Wade and his team for 2024/25
Sergeant Nicole was off running to a great start in her new role. Everyone was forthcoming in the fines session; with one member advising how on a cold day recently, visiting family opted to leave dogs in car for a short while. However, they excitedly jumped about and inadvertently locked themselves in the car... with the keys inside! AA was duly called, and when asked if anyone was in it was told there were dogs but they were perfectly fine waiting. Nek minute Fire Brigade in all their regalia turned up to the rescue... much to the neighbours delight!

President Presents...

Wade welcomed all to the meeting with Peter V introducing his friend and neighbour Steve Hughes.
Wade updated more on Regionalisation pilot program. Ideas wanted for a "Beautify our Community" project. The other Clubs will work on what's best for their own areas, this is a great way to involve our community, happening 19/20 October. Committees to have a brainstorm to get some ideas; whilst we are happy to work in with other service clubs or organisations, we run the risk of being under-promoted.

Members Announcements...

David H. gave out all the envelopes for those attending "Guess who's coming to dinner?" August 16th.
Peter V  confirmed with everyone who was hosting Lincoln students, and reminded that this close (26/27th Aug) that unless in dire circumstances no-one could pull out now.. no spare beds!
Michelle will do shunt sheet next week for visit to our sister club Ballina in Brisbane later this year.
Daffodil day is 30th August, helpers on the day will be required... more info to come.
Stew advised Halfling marathon 22 March 2025, at least 40 helpers required... save the date.

Parting Thought

Quote provided by Kevin Singh.
An email has gone around to advise that IPP Jane's big brother Steve Belton passed away August 14th. Jane got to the UK in time to see him but he sadly slipped away two days later. Our love and thoughts are with you Janey xx
Guest Speaker
David Hulme
In lieu of guest speaker Johnny Dryden, David kindly whipped up a quiz. Unexpectedly there ended up being a three way tie for first place, with the tie  break question quickly sorting out the winning team. Apparently Johnny thought he was trying out for the Olympics, and tumbled. Hope he recovers soon!
