Back home , we have a good soil temp for this time of year, and grass growth has responded to that, as we have had some moisture. This week, looks like it will be coolish with some morning frosts. Last weeks auction raised $4566, to support our five Matamata College Volleyball New Zealand Representatives; who head off to the USA early July.
Abigail Martin presented and spoke to a power point presentation of where she lived, gave interesting historical facts, plus the two Aboriginal peoples of significance of her district. Her school and her part in a spots team. Thanked her host 'parents' for being so nice a caring.
Leonie Tisch and Michelle Tanner attended a function at Government House, Wellington last weekend. 2021 is our centenary year of Rotary. They were presented three Totara seedlings, to be transplanted possibly on Stanley Farm Lane in 2021.Kevin Kent will be Club President Rotary term 2020-2021. More detail to come. But the rationale for the Totara's, is to see Rotary in NZ Plant lots of trees in 2021.
Michelle Tanner. Is to Chair a committee to support UNICEF immunise 33000 children in the Pacific Islands. The funding gap for that currently is NZ$ 4,500,000 with District 9930 to pledge $10,000 yearly . Michelle expects good support from Rotarians and their Clubs to contribute to this very important project.
