Hope you are all enjoying your Kings Birthday Weekend.
What a wonderful evening last week. We started the evening with the induction of four new members. Welcome Nicole Oliver, Lianne (pronounced Lianna) Edwards-Maas, Janelle Burnside and Leo Kingston. We hope you enjoy your time in Rotary and take the opportunities to make a difference in this world as a Rotarian. Come as you are, do what you can.
We look forward to working with you for many years to come
Lianne, Nicole, President Jane, Janelle and Leo.
It didn't take long before we had tech savvy Lianne sorting out the power point presentation for the Life Education Trust.

Our speakers for the evening were Keith Trembath and Frances Nicol from the Life Education Trust.
Frances looks after the logistics of funding and applying for grants to help keep the trust functioning effectively. They also rely a great amount on sponsors.
Keith gave us a good rundown of the work that is done though the trust, working alongside teachers, 300 volunteers, amassing 23,000 hours a school year, working with over 250,000 students in over 1500 schools. There are so many things that children have to deal with in todays world. All classes are age appropriate from Primary age to College dealing with a huge array of issues from bullying, healthy eating, dangers of the internet, drugs, anxiety, budgeting, family nucleus and many more subjects. A fantastic project delivering so much to so many of our children. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour with their aim being that no child is left behind.
