Lots of things coming up so let's have a look:

  • Stew Wadey has still got a few buckets left for Spud in a Bucket, so please let him know if you would like one as we would love to see them all sold.
  • Gin Tasting evening next week 25th October. If you haven't already put your name on the shunt sheet, you need to let Miranda know NOW!! $25 for dinner (unless you have already paid).
  • Still 75th Anniversary books available.
  • Wade Linnell has a shunt sheet going around for Christmas Puddings on behalf of Inner Wheel. $25 giftwrapped or $23 not.
  • There will be a joint Clubs dinner on 22nd November - More info and shunt sheet to come.
  • Our Christmas function this year will be on the 6th December at the Matamata Golf Club, so mark that date in your diaries now!!!
  • David H asked on behalf of Jamie from Rex Barnes Engineering if anyone is shipping goods to the Pacific Islands could they contact him as he has a lot of engineering tools that he is donating to them.
  • Please remember that you must ring the club answer phone and apologize or advise of extra guests before 9am on any meeting date.

I think perhaps our newest member Ray Coote was rehearsing a song and dance routine to keep the others entertained as they worked.

Parting Thought

When our time on this earth is done, money or material things will not matter, but the love,
time and kindness that we have given to others will shine and live on forever.

Hey everyone

I'm back!!!
Special thanks to Maz for doing a sterling effort on last weeks newsletter and to Stew for taking great notes and pictures for this weeks one.

Looks like there was a great turnout of willing helpers to this weeks Community night "Rotary Hour of Power" at two venues being the Kauri Grove and the garden of
Mr Johannes Geldof (no relation to Bob he told Stew)

Me Geldofs garden was given a great spruce up by Leonie Tisch, Kevin Sing, Kevin Kent, Job Bruins and Bev Tayor. Great work team!

The Kauri Grove Mulch spreading team was ably led from the front by President Alice Clothier who rallied her skilled shovel, rake and wheelbarrow drivers Krishna Narayanasami, David Hulme, David Parker, Owen Westlake, Graham Motion, Ray Coote and Stew Wadey.

That's one mighty big mulch pile to get through!
