Next week 9th August, our guest speakers will be John Tarbutt and David Hulme, telling us all about the Regionalisation Project.

Hope you can make it - should be very interesting.

David Hulme thanked those who were able to assist in the chopping up of pallets for kindling to be given away to those in need. It was a very good turnout with a lot of wood boxed for kindling. Loads of one liners shared by Stew Wadey which we all had a good laugh at. Beth Taylor thanked Lissette for the yummy cake and scones for morning tea.

There will still be shunt sheets going around for the following, so if you can help out, please pop your name down:
  • Daffodil Day 26th August – Volunteers required for street collection
  • Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner – Friday 26th August
  • Peter Vossen requires a few more hosts for the Lincoln Students on the 29th and 30th August PLEASE SUPPORT
  • Still 75th Anniversary books available.

Please don't forget -
If you are unable to be at a meeting where you have been assigned a little job to do, it is your responsibility to organise someone to do it for you.

Parting Thought

We didn't have one so here is one from me!

When you can't control what is happening, challenge yourself to control the way you respond. That is where your power is.

Hey team

Hope you are all having a great week ðŸ˜Š

President Alice welcomed everyone and expressed the Clubs condolences to Michelle Tanner at the sad passing of her father.
Alice opened the meeting with a brief rundown of the workings of the Westminister International Club. Chartered in 1948, it is a  27 member club who have been sponsoring an Interact Club since 1978. They are also heavily involved with the Plimco Puffins who support disability swimming projects in London and the Soho Church helping to feed the homeless. But their major project is being involved in the Kids Day Out program for disadvantaged children which started in 1990 and in 2019, this project, took over 28,000 children on a day out, involving over 10,000 Rotarians at over 100 venues and theme parks.
Great work Westminister Club!

  • Jane introduced our guest speaker Sofia Shing (David Wheadon's Granddaughter) who spoke very confidently about her Tennis Scholarship to the University of Georgia. Sofia encouraged us all to inform any sporting students me may know to consider applying for a scholarship as there are over 1200 Universities throughout America involved in the scholarship program and in her words, they are very worthwhile and rewarding.
After the guest speaker, Miranda showed us a short video on Cure Kids, before David Hulme began the Mystery Paper Bag Auction. Loads of laughs were had by all and we raised over $1500.00 for Cure Kids!
Fantastic!
