Peter welcomed everyone to the meeting and acknowledged guest Lindsay Ticsh. After a recent visit to Te Waihou Walkway that leads to Blue Springs, he suggested an ideal attraction for a combined Rotary picnic say with South Waikato Rotary Clubs. Peter presented his Directors with their badge of office. Lynette Stanley, Mike Farrell, David Gasquione, Miranda Thomson, and Dave Johnson. President Peter invited Harry to address the meeting on how Rotary Matamata evolved with hosting annually Lincoln 3rd year Ag Science students. Field trips for these students is to gain experience of the many forms of agricultural land based food production practices, that knowledge is very essential to their studies. Hosting these students assists their field trip education undertaking, but also a very satisfactory fund raiser for our club.
Alice Clothier, Rotarian. Drew first up to introduce herself to her fellow club members. Born at an early age, attended Tirau and Matamata schools. Self confessed "nerd" from way back! Her 2010 Rotary youth exchange to Belgium, a fantastic experience. On return attended Massey University and attained Degree's in Zoology and physiology .Wish's to be a child physiologist. Not long ago, attended RYLA course, Enjoyed being part a team to accomplish the varied challenge activities, to enhance her leadership skills. Currently with ACC, as a claims officer. Makes 'arty' Dream Catchers in her spare time.
Wade Linnell, Rotarian. Introduced himself to fellow Rotary Matamata peers.
Born in Hobart, Tasmania, his family relocated to New Zealand when he was 4 years of age. Qualified as a builder, he was employed by Peter Vossen Builders Ltd. for 12 years. He was employed by Kiwi Ranch Rotorua ,that morphed into quite a commercial business. He eventually embarked as an owner operator building and home maintenance business, after a stint at the Totara Spring complex. Has a dedicated voluntary work input into Ministry Groups. Shorty off to his third volunteer building project in Fiji. Married to Brenda, they have two grown up daughters.
Lincoln Students, Billets required Sunday 20th and Tuesday 22nd August. Fifty five (55) require accommodation each night. Hosts need not be members of Rotary Matamata, indeed in the past, we as a club have been supported in this fund raising project, by residents of Matamata. Don Stanley, urges Rotary Matamata the improbable suggestion to consider being the motivator of community support, for a significant sport development at Bedford Park. The concept has been on the table for the past ten years, but nothing is happening.
Rexine Hawes, is aware of support for a major sport stadium within Matamata District.
Lynette Stanley, A submission to Matamata-Piako District Council has been made, reference the proposed Stadium.
Peter Thissen advises of a severe Aphid problem with the Willow Tree's stage backdrop. at the concert venue. Needs urgently a MIST SPRAYER. Urgent response would be appreciated. These Aphids will, if uncontrolled WILL be very detrimental to these Willow Tree's, possibly die and decay.

Sergeant Eric, advised to be neutral gender with his witty comments!!! which means no sexist jokes !!!!!!! Sergeant Eric's rabbit joke was a mathematical bunny though ha ha .
Nice one Murray Wills, he only did a few weeks of club bulletins. So can we assume that experience resulted him being number 1 sales person for Harcourts.
Good laughter and banter when it came to present "Parting Thought". Read dutyroster in the bulletins. Remember if you are allocated a club duty, it is your responsibility to find a replacement if you will be absent. Members who have advised editor Stew of unavailability, will not be rostered until they resume attending club meetings.
Sheryl Ertel, Stew had to make a duty roster change for next meeting 25th. I have rostered you for "Parting Thought" please.
Please advise Stew if you are not available for club duties. Those members who have advised me of unavailability, I am able to adjust my duty roster matrix accordingly. It is an accepted requirement for members to arrange a proxy for club duty if gazetted in our club bulletin.
Leonie has a schedule of her Club visits, starting Thursday 3rd August . If any members wish to accompany Leonie , she would be delighted to share the 'experience' of such Club visits. There are still a number of Clubs to confirm their date, but those will be updated into the schedule .

The snow and chilly weather in Santiago was featured in the New Zealand Herald newspaper. First snow to fall on that Chilean city for decades. Dani on her second week of NZ School holidays. Back to College next week, Dani was very pleased with her progress last term.

I am now having radiation treatment for prostate cancer, 5 days a week. Prior to start of treatment, I had to get body mapped, to precisely locate the prostate for accurate technical settings for the treatment process. In doing that, I have 'tattoo's' applied by the medical staff to assist precise treatment, one or two 'tattoo's' are in private places. At home with family, the conversation came up about my "tattoo's". Where are they was the question. Well I will have to take my trousers down to show you.......My 4 year old granddaughter piped up" I don't want to see your penis!!". which made me laugh and smile of that innocent comment.
