Lots of things coming up so let's have a look:
      
  • Joint Service Clubs Xmas Dinner 22nd November - Please call the club answer phone to book in any extra guests or to make an apology. All normal dining members will need to pay an extra $5.00 at the door for the entertainment. If you are coming and you are a non-dining member, you still need to pay $5.00. If you are bringing a guest, you will need to pay $30.00 for the meal and entertainment.

  • NO club meeting Tuesday 29th November

  • Our Christmas function this year will be on the Tuesday 6th December at the Matamata Golf Club, so mark that date in your diaries now!!!           Dining members $40.00 Those who don't normally dine and guests $50.00 You MUST be booked in and paid for into Administration account by Tuesday 29th November

  • Annual Foodbank Appeal are in desperate need of funds again this year. Last year we raised $4820 so lets see if we can top that this year. If you would like to help out this great oragisation, then please make a donation into the Charitable Trust account with the reference FOODBANK and YOUR NAME.

  • Christmas Trees sales set for the Saturdays 2nd,10th and 17th December, outside Mitre 10 plus at the Christmas Market. Shunt Sheet next meeting for members to indicate when able to assist. A roster will be organised.

  • David Hulme gave a Heads up on the 'Tractor Trek' in the latter part of February next year. The aim of this event by a convoy of tractors through King Country and our part of the Waikato, is to 'Promote Positive role Models and anti Bullying' in our communities. David will look for member support to assist with activities when this convoy hits town. It is anticipated this convoy will be based at Opal Springs during their time with us.

  • Apple Pie Night Peter Vossen, our Club Champion for this. Wishes to have a representative from each Club Committee, to be part of a sub committee for this fund raising project . Date is set for 15th June 2023.

Hi everyone
 
Hope you have had a wonderful week. Mine has been exceedingly busy which is why I didn't make it to Rotary on Tuesday and why I am at work on a Saturday afternoon doing the newsletter. Thanks go out again to the wonderful Stew Wadey for taking notes for me for the evening and typing them up in spectacular fashion!
Don't know where I would be without you Stew.

The meeting was our 1/2 yearly assembly at which the minutes of the previous 2 parts of the Annual Meeting were presented and the members approved as true and correct. Past President Robert Stuart announced the Club Nominations for the 2023-2024 Rotary Year.

There were lots of members announcement with upcoming information, so I am going to list some of them twice, just to make sure you see them!! 
 
Super Important!!!
 
1.The Combined Service Clubs meeting is NEXT Tuesday. So far we have 34 guests coming and there is some great entertainment lined up.
IMPORTANT...please phone the apology line if you are bringing a guest with you so we can have accurate numbers for catering.
This is important if your partner/spouse belongs to Inner Wheel.
Looking forward to a great night celebrating service clubs in the Matamata area.
IMPORTANT for next week combined service Clubs Dinner. Members must contact the Club Answer Phone with any guest(s) attending, for catering purposes. I am sure attendance Officer Lyn Dobbe, will except contact to help on that matter. Lyn needs to know HOW many dining , to accurately advise our caterer's.  Dining Members $5:  Non Dining Members and Guests  $30. Cash at the door reception please.  Remember, Club Answer phone  by 9am Tuesday.
 
2. Food Bank annual appeal. Treasurer Mike can give you your donation pay in information, or deposit in Rotary Club of Matamata Charitable Trust Account 03-0363-0010566-00. Your Name: REF: Food bank  Cut off date for a very much needed Food Bank appeal, is 20th December.
 
3. Club Christmas Party venue is Matamata Golf Club. Tuesday 6th December. . Your attendance confirmation will be by your payment to Rotary Club of Matamata Incorporated Administration Account 03-0363-0018854-00
Reference CHRISTMAS and YOUR NAME
The Cut off payment date for those attending, is on or before Tuesday 29th November,

Please note there will be no shunt sheet for this event, numbers will be counted (to enable us to advise the venue) from the bank deposits at 8am on Wednesday 30th Novemberthere will be no additions to the numbers or refunds once the count is completed.

6.Christmas in the Park , Saturday 3rd December. Gates open 4pm, Live Show starts at 6pm. Expected finish about 9.30pm ish. As we have done as Club members in the past, helped with gold coin collection, lost property/ misplaced kids support, general help presence in our Hi viz Club vests . Wade Linnell will have a shunt sheet next week, for us to support a worthy community event.
