Evening all. We welcome to this special night, District Governor 9930 Graham Jull for his official visit. Also a warm welcome to his good wife Elizabeth and Assistant Governor Bill Robinson and Deb. Nice one for both the Women and Men All Black Sevens Teams, for the double at the San Francisco Tournament. Soccer World Cup over, but thank you Rob for the roast pork this evening.  Been  a good weekend from the rural perspective, Farm Watch. Soil temp 10c,23/25 kgs/dm/ha day grass growth, 2030kgs/dm/ha pasture cover. Rain 35mls. Important to keep on that long spring rotation. Cows in good condition. Few calves on the ground but that will crank up all over the district. Cows should be fed 2/3rds of what you expect them to need at their peak production. So at the present time, that will be in the region of 12/13 kgs of good nutritional dry matter. So all's well, sun is shining; as the on farm work load increases. We will send our first milk for processing Wednesday.
District Governor 9930  Graham Jull

'Who Has Inspired Me'.. Eric Muckle.
Book: Touching the Void.Joe Simpson and his climbing partner, Simon Yates, had just reached the top of a 21,000-foot peak in the Andes when disaster struck. Simpson plunged off the vertical face of an ice ledge, breaking his leg. In the hours that followed, darkness fell and a blizzard raged as Yates tried to lower his friend to safety. Finally, Yates was forced to cut the rope, moments before he would have been pulled to his own death.
The next three days were an impossibly grueling ordeal for both men. Yates, certain that Simpson was dead, returned to base camp consumed with grief and guilt over abandoning him. Miraculously, Simpson had survived the fall, but crippled, starving, and severely frostbitten was trapped in a deep crevasse. Summoning vast reserves of physical and spiritual strength, Simpson crawled over the cliffs and canyons of the Andes, reaching base camp hours before Yates had planned to leave.
How both men overcame the torments of those harrowing days is an epic tale of fear, suffering, and survival, and a poignant testament to unshakable courage and friendship. This back to safety, inspired me by the will to survive.
