Evening all as President David opened the meeting. , Trust you had a safe happy weekend. Acknowledged guest speaker Tim van de Molen, and Peter Thissen's uncle; Piet van Elferen visiting from Nymegen, Netherlands. Also Mentioned, this is Natalie van der Goes last meeting , before embarking to Cambridge ,England initially., For Rural folk on the farm, wetter than we would have liked. Commiserated with Caterer Rob in England being forth , with France winning the World Cup. All good for next time. So Farm Watch, Soil Temp 9c,growth 23kg/dm/ha per day. 37mls precipitation , reduced pasture cover , district into calving. Important to keep available pasture cover through to mid September, which means being on a 100 rotation of the farm pastures. Bit of N (Nitrogen) 30 units/Ha within environmental constraints helps that. So on farm now, rural folk are quite busy.
Rotarian Natalie van der Goes
Off to see the world and Teach.
  Tim van de Molen MP
Guest speaker Tim van de Molen, MP for the Waikato Constituency introduced by Robert Stuart. Local lad Te Poi. . Both parents teachers, and involved in community activities. Matamata College student,, then embarked on life experiences that varied jobs here and overseas which presented different pathways..  Loved Wales, it people ,it's culture similar to New Zealand of outlook awareness. Up to then ,his ball sport was soccer, but soon involved in 15 man rugby, but not quite Welsh All Black status. His work travels also took him to Netherlands and Northern Ireland. Got Involved in what the Young Farmers organisation could offer for his rural and urban community, both as a board member and winning the prestigious Young Farmer of the Year competition.. Likes challenges, Enlisted with New Zealand Territorial Army Defence Force, A commissioned Officer. Gave a marathon a go, in Athens. Got inspiration from ordinary folk he participated with, from which he observed that no matter how hard you think you can go; you can go up another level. The varied experiences, that gave him a broader interest central government politics. With encouragement and support from his good lady with those obligations to a young family;  an understanding of how the constituency he wished to represent : thinks. Successful with the nomination for the National Party, to stand for the Waikato Electorate Member of Parliament. The election process was unique. First step into Parliament Building, awestruck by the Mana of people before him, that included his Great Grand Father in the 1890's..Not a year into MP for Waikato, been very busy in a very diverse electorate. Supporting resolutions to issues that constituents present, which has already gave him challenges to work through, Then he has responsibilities in Parliament, Some structured and some not so structured. A bit of flexibility on site as third Whip for National Party Members of Parliament, making sure enough Members are on the precinct for when the House is in Session. He has to be on site for the sitting days, when Parliament is in session; which also is when he attends to electorate business. Not only does Tim takes an active input into our Primary Industries affairs, but also sits on the Transport and Infrastructure Select Committee.  Drone transportation,,autonomous vehicles electricity generation needs are just three topics already discussed in that committee. Leonie Tisch thanked Tim for his insight, as to being a first time electorate Member of Parliament for Waikato..

'Who Has Inspired Me'.. Mike Farrell.
Mike made it very clear that he did not aspire academically at High School he attended. Left school with no qualifications. Worked 5 years textile factory. Then another job 1year,but had a great boss. After some time doing my job. Got summoned into his office. He shut the door! "What the hell are you doing here "!!! " You are wasting your time here". You should be at university.  Mike told him "But I did not get School University Entrance". His reply as, "you are over 21, get off to a university now!" Which I did. It was his inspiring straight talk to me that got me to where I am today, and I am still seeking further qualification to enhance my business.
