Hi everybody, to our quiz night. Fun and friendships may be put aside to see who are the brainiest team of this evening. Extend our thoughts to Leonie, who has just lost her Mum. Two resignations accepted with regret, Christine Wilson and Derek Farrelly. Welcome back Ross Bay and Wade Linnell, from overseas projects that benefit humanity. “A Night at the Oscars” Conference Dinner theme
Alice Clothier, one of our talented 'artistic directors' for what Rotary Matamata Conference attendees will astound the Rotary World, and no doubt ourselves at 'The Night at the Oscars' themed evening function.
All Alice wants of Club members attending District Conference dinner, is to make sure that they have black clothing top and bottom, please.
A Glitch with the three 'click me' ...................... !!
I just cannot get the clubrunner computer server in Canada, to allow me to delete the "click me' wording in three items. Which includes this one by me and my mate, Glitch. He is also blinking not happy !!!
Bulletin editor Stew, is away for all June meetings.
The club duty matrix has been done to 3rd July. These I will send out for your information in a Clubrunner email to Club members. Read and cross check your name. Michelle has kindly offered to do June bulletins in my absence. You will note for June only one normal club night, so anticipate some but not all duties will be redundant on those three other meeting nights.
Volunteers required to help as we always do every year, for supporting Matamata Brass present Matamata Festival of Music. This year, the Festival clashes with District Conference. Of which, two thirds of our Club members are attending.
David Wheadon is our Club champion to organise a team, to help with logistics during the performances. So only a small pool of Club members are in a position of making themselves available, for either the morning or afternoon or even all day; that has to be seriously considered please.
Our Club calendar for May, looks busy for its members. So there will not be a Club Tuesday night designated to attend that show as a Club activity, which the Matamata Musical Theatre has advised us of.
If there is a consensus of members who would like to attend this show as a group, on a different date. Feel welcome to do so.
Wade Linnell led a youthful team of eight, for a 'Homes of Hope' project in Suva, Rewa Province,Viti Levu, Fiji. They were there for two weeks of volunteer work, to build an extension to a unit. Besides the actual building extension integrity construction, grouting and tiling presented new skills for his team. The project is to support young woman in compromising situations such as prostitution, 'Homes of Hope' will help them develop skills, so to have a future.
