President Elect Lynnette Stanley, presided this meeting tonight. "Can you hear me" !! testing out a new sound system for this meeting. With a grin, "me being up here at the lectern I could call this a coup! rather that a dictatorship as President David would say". Hosting of Lincoln students went without a noticeable hitch, thank you everyone involved with that fund raiser. Farm Watch report short a sweet, soil temp 12c, grass growth 36kgs/dm/ha/day, Spring is here, 1st September. On the retail front, Lynnette advised that Matamata Club have agreed to an extension of Mitre 10, by another 500 sq/metres. The garden centre will also expand threefold. So an exciting few weeks ahead for Lynnette, and the building addition project should be completed February next year; plus rapt being involved with her sons on a beach bach development, at Pauanui.
RYPEN participants Daisy Jones (L) and Trinity Owen , year 10 students Matamata College. Presented a brief review of their recent Rotary Youth Program for Enrichment camp. Daunting as it may be being in front of a microphone and describing some of their activities undertaken to Matamata Rotarians, but an all important learning experience to an audience; that supports youth leadership initiatives. Daisy:- "30 students attended, Friday night was introduction games, Saturday Rope challenge, wall climbing, kayaking and a low rope team activity". Trinity added :- " We got to know new people, team environment of three team groups of 10, developed new friendships and really enjoyed the flying fox" !
Rotarian Gary Moore reiterated the importance of team building, to achieve good outcomes in life. Gary presented to them Rotary Matamata pens. Not only to support their studies at Matamata College but possibly to fill out application forms, for consideration to future Rotary Matamata Scholarships; when gazetted. Interact is active at Matamata College.

'Who Has Inspired Me'.. Henry Clothier.
Who inspired me in my life , my Grandad James Clothier. he said to me never worry about money, just be a success. Going through school, I was not a good speller and still challenged to this very day. So I to look at ways to overcome that. !974 while enroute by aeroplane to England to buy Charoalais Cattle , sat beside a Monk who also inspired me. His words have never left me. 'You are what you think you are. You have a conscious mind and a subconscious mind that never sleeps'. I have done very well through life, as I have used my subconscious mind everyday. Any business proposition I subconscious think through the night before I sleep, and I have a clear answer the following morning. I also get inspiration by reading many books of self made people.
